Today, we are talking about the word 'sith.'
No, I haven't suddenly started a Star Wars themed blog, and I'm a few days late for 'May the 4th Be with You' (Can you tell I have friends who like Star Wars?).
But if you want a new dad joke, you can tell people there is a Star Wars reference in the Bible. They can find it in Ezekiel.
"...sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee." Ez. 35:6 KJV
Okay, so it doesn't roll off the tongue like the baseball joke, "In the big-inning" (Gen. 1:1). But I did a double take when I spotted it in Ezekiel.
Now, let's get down to business, shall we?
Sith is an archaic word which means 'since.'
Not so scary now, huh? Yeah, okay, the Bible verse is still scary (and the Star Wars dude too), but the archaic word itself isn't that bad, sith you know what it means.
